Global Facility Solutions Announces New Project at Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in
Palm Beach Aruba
Mt. Airy, MD – January 7, 2011 – Global Facility
Solutions (GFS), an independent and objective facility
solutions provider headquartered in Maryland, today
announced the recent addition of a new client,
Servidyne Systems (Servidyne) of Atlanta, Georgia.
GFS will work with Servidyne to complete an energy
master planning project at Aruba Marriott Resort &
Stellaris Casino in Palm Beach Aruba.
As part of the contract, GFS will identify and
recommend facility upgrade projects to reduce
the utility costs and overall cost of operations
at the facility.
"Utility rates for electricity and propane at the facility are very high due to the location of the facility
(electricity is over $0.21 per kWh)," says Robert K. Calloway, PE, president and owner of GFS.
"Therefore, even minor energy upgrades can have a significant impact on the annual energy
consumption at the resort facility."
Recently, GFS worked with Marriott International to perform an on-site energy audit of all building
systems at the resort, including HVAC systems and controls, exhaust and ventilation, lighting and
lighting controls, domestic hot water, laundry and pool systems. As a result of the audit, GFS identified
seventeen energy reduction measures that would reduce the total resort utility bill by over 19%
annually.
A master plan for energy reduction upgrades is currently being developed and under review with
Servidyne Systems and Marriott International.
