Baltimore, MD – August 24, 2011 – Global Facility Solutions (GFS)
announced the recent completion of a Technical Services Study for
Osler Medical Center today. GFS assisted Osler Medical in
obtaining a $35,000 rebate from BGE to help pay for building
envelope upgrades. The services fall under the BGE Smart Energy
Savers Program®.
GFS completed the Technical Services Study at Osler Medical's nearly
58,000 square-foot facility in Towson, Maryland. A Building
Performance Audit was completed at the Center through on-site
analysis of the existing systems, direct field measurement of
operations and interviews with site personnel. The analysis of the

facility was completed in partnership with TerraLogos Energy Group in Baltimore, MD. Air leaks were
identified using diagnostic equipment such as thermal imaging, blower door analysis and temperature
scanning.
As a result of the assessment, TerraLogos Energy Group proposed $70,000 worth of upgrades and
repairs to correct deficiencies and create a more balanced and energy-efficient facility. GFS provided
the energy analysis and building simulation model under the requirements of the BGE rebate program.
Upon implementation, Osler Medical will be eligible for $35,000 in rebates from the BGE Smart Energy
Savers Program® – approximately 50% of the total project implantation cost.
Based on engineering estimates, the measures will save Osler Medical nearly $20,000 in energy
savings.
GFS is pre-qualified under the BGE rebate program to provide turn-key retro-commissioning services for
BGE utility clients and can help clients obtain BGE rebates of up to $15,000 per building for performing
